The camera is not designed for running 24/7 at full capacity or around the-clock live streaming. It’s designed to record motion events and to live view remotely only when you need it. B4 does not allow long time continuous live viewing. Because that will drain the battery quickly. The cameras will time out after 5 minutes live viewing.
2. Will the battery get charged if the solar panel does not get direct sunlight?No, it won't charge without solar resources but you can charge the battery with adapter.
3. Do I keep the USB charger plugged in from the solar panel at all time?Yes. You can keep the USB charger plugged in from the solar panel at all time. When the camera is fully charged, it will automatically stop charging.
4. If the solar panel won't charge the camera when it's under 32° F, do you have to remove it from the house in the winter?No, the working temperature for this camera is 14° to 131° F(-10° to 55° C). If it can't be charged by the solar panel under 32° F, you can charge it via an USB adapter.
5. Can I format a 256GB SD card to FAT32 from the Foscam App?B4 doesn't let you use the SD card without formatting. It is better to format the card to FAT32 by our tool which can be downloaded from https://www.foscam.com/downloads/app_software.html
6. What power adapter can be used instead of a solar panel?B4 can also be charged by the DC 5V/1A adapter. And a Type-C cable is included in the box. Please use a sutiable USB adapter to charge it.
7. How long does live viewing last before it times out on this camera?B4 will last 5 minutes live video on the Foscam APP and Foscam VMS before it times out.
8. Does this camera come with a battery? What is the capacity of that inside battery?Yes. It comes with a 5000mAh battery inside the camera but it is not removable.
9. How long is the solar power cord? How long is the USB C cable that come with B4 camera?The cord length of the solar panel is 3 meters. Length of the factory original USB C cable is 1.5 meters.
10. What is the size of solar panel?The size of solar panel is 172x120x14 mm.
11. What's the recommended height of installation?The ideal viewing distance is 2-10 meters (7ft — 33ft), within which people will be recognized. To achieve a better viewing experience, it's advised not to place the camera too far away or too high (suggested mounting height: 2.2-2.5 meters) from the designated monitoring area.
12. Does this product support RTSP and ONVIF?B4 doesn't support RTSP or ONVIF and can't work with third-party software. Therefore, we recommend you access it via Foscam App or Foscam VMS.
13. Can this camera be added to Foscam NVR, NAS or Blue Iris software?B4 does not work with Foscam NVR, NAS or Blue Iris software.
14. Does this camera work with Alexa and Google Assistant?Yes, it can work with Alexa and Google Assistant.
15. How far from the WiFi router can this camera pick up a signal?The WiFi distance of this camera is 70-80 meters in an open & unobstructed place. The actual WiFi distance depends on the actual working environment of the camera and the WiFi coverage of the router.
No, please only use the Type-C cable which comes with the camera to charge it.
Foscam VMS can't set static ip address for B4 camera. If you have a need, you can set it up from your router settings.
